Tetra Tech’s history in Chile begins with the acquisition of 100% of its predecessor, Metálica Consultores S.A., a partnership officially established in February 1991 with top rated professional teams in mining planning engineering.
At the outset, the company was particularly focused on the development of both mining studies and projects, and mining planning software.
Some outstanding facts include the introduction of planning concepts through opportunity cost as defined by Kenneth Lane and years later, the introduction of the COMET strategic planning software in the domestic market.
In 2003, the company’s management decided to manage the quality certification for Metálica engineering process under ISO 9001 standards, so as to anticipate growing market demands and mark a difference from competitors.
Starting in 2011, Metálica Consultores was 100% purchased by the multinational Tetra Tech, which has 22,000 employees, including scientists and engineers in 470 offices around the world. This team is made up of more than 60 disciplines. We offer our clients a wide range of services, including project management, construction management, engineering and consulting.
